Education 2.0

We are in the midst of a continuously advancing Technological Revolution – “The Digital Age”.  We do more than just surf the web for information; we interact, manipulate, create, and share information.  The “techno” generation lives in a different world and learns in different ways than the previous generation.  They are a social networks actively participating in how, when, and what they learn.  As educators, if we are to guide our students in their education, we must be part of this generation and learn to utilize technology to our advantage.

Today’s society requires a highly educated technologically savvy population to compete in the global marketplace.  Are we teaching with the advanced and available technology most of our students are accustomed to using?  Or, are some of us holding our students at a disadvantage because we’re stuck in the teaching practices used during the Industrial Revolution?
